The Air We Breath

Many are becoming more and more aware of the many chemicals to avoid, that are commonly found in many skincare products.  Just as it is important to not expose your skin to such harmful chemicals, breathing in these chemicals can be just as harmful.  Have you ever noticed the powerful aroma when walking down the cleaning isle in the grocery store?  This odor is called “gassing” these are the chemicals escaping through the sealed plastics.  I now try to hold my breath when walking down this isle.

Today many of us are trying to live healthier lifestyles, and making healthier decisions.  Some of the major decisions are changing diets, and exercising.  More subtle decisions would be selecting safer products such as natural skin care products, or natural cleaners to accomplish those daily household cleaning chores.  To take it even a step further would be what you are putting into the air in your home, or automobile for you, your family and friends to breathe in.  I have often read the air inside our homes is more polluted than the air we breathe outside. When I read statistics such as Americans expected to spend nearly 2 billion dollars this year alone in air fresheners, leads me to believe the general public is not aware of the possible dangers many of these air fresheners impose.

Using synthetic air freshers in the home or automobile can lead to all sorts of health issues for you and your family, such as headaches, fatigue, diarrhea in babies, and depression to name only a few.  There are healthier ways to freshen up the air in your home.  This is why we have just recently decided to start making soy candles.  By burning soy candles you are not only eliminating the presence of synthetic chemicals, but are supporting American farming as well.   Soy candles are made from Soybeans which are a very renewable source as opposed to paraffin based candles that are made from a byproduct of gasoline that most likely is manufactured from foreign or domestic oil.

Soy candles are non-toxic for you and the environment.  They burn cleaner and cooler than paraffin based candles allowing them to last longer,  and are soot free.  I highly recommend replacing those synthetic air fresheners in your home with a healthy Soy candle today.  Be sure to check the label.  If it does not say Soy wax it most likely is made from paraffin which is more transparent with darker discolorations than Soy wax.  Soy wax has whiter discolorations.
